That Bitchy Chick

Some people sipped from the fountain of bitchiness…I gargled!

That’s not cool!

My poor Momma and Daddy.  They finally get themselves a car and the A/C compressor isn’t working. It’s not that the heat in Pennsylvania is brutal right now, but it’s hot enough to make it uncomfortable driving around in a vehicle with no air conditioning. My mom is not one to enjoy the heat. My dad can grin and bear it. He’s used to driving around in delivery trucks and sweating it out. Mom, not so much. She’s a pampered princess and doesn’t like to sweat. Hopefully they’ll get the situation resolved fairly quickly because I know for a fact, August can get pretty heated in PA. If they don’t, I suspect I’ll be getting many moody MSN messages from my Momma but thankfully it’s my Daddy who will be receiving the full brunt of her fury and not me! Sorry Dad!

Mmm Mmm Good!

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 23, 2008

I just finished eating a boat load of Indonesian food.  Bami, Nasi and a bunch of other things I can’t pronounce.  It’s definitely not something readily found in the U.S. but it’s pretty common here in the Netherlands.  It’s quite similar to Chinese food but there are some distinct differences in the flavor and the spices used.  Personally, I like it.  I won’t be liking it around 3 a.m. though when I’m suffering from extreme heart burn.  I should have brought some Pepcid or Nexium with me from the U.S. but alas, I only remembered the Advil and Tylenol PM.  It’s going to be a long night! *sigh*

Super Charge!

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 23, 2008

So my boyfriend got a new car. He was driving a Mercury Mountaineer but the gas prices are killing him in an SUV. So he now has a PT Cruiser. I suspect he’ll be wanting to soup it up a bit though. I don’t see him content driving a plain little Cruiser. Although I think turbo charging it might defeat the purpose of trying to be fuel efficient, but what do I know? If you’re looking to charge up your vehicle and give it some kick, then check out turbochargerpros.com. No matter your vehicle, I’m certain they’ve got what you’re looking for. Searching for that hard to find Volkswagen turbo charger? I imagine they’ve got it there. Click the link and see what you have. Oh, and the boyfriend saved the SUV for me for when I bring my happy butt back to the U.S. Guess I’ll be the one having to contend with astronomical fuel costs!

Sleepin’ like a baby

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 23, 2008

Today we had to drive to Belgium to get Tracey’s daughter. That is a boring drive. I did what I normally do. I slept on the way there and I slept on the way back. Put me in a car combined with cloudy, drizzly weather and make me ride for 2.5 hours one way and its instant sleeping pill for me! I guess I’m like a baby in that concern. I can do some of my best sleeping riding in a vehicle. Maybe that’s the answer to my sleep problems I’ve had lately. I’ll just have Tracey drive me around for a good 9 hours or so each night!

I could use a Payday Loan right about now

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 22, 2008

My money is non-existant right now.  Seriously!  My finances are in dire straights right now.  My money flow has ceased to flow as it should.  A Pay Day Loan would come in handy right about now. I knew things were expensive over here in the Netherlands but sheesh. I mean, I’ve been here on several occasions…but I guess when I was here, the money was always flowing as it should be and I really didn’t worry about the cost of things. Now I’m here on a daily basis and holy cow…I can’t afford anything it seems. Even getting a coffee at the cafe is pricey. Not to mention, you don’t get but one cup of coffee for the price you pay. Yeah, that’s right…no free refills here in Europe. Apparently that marketing ploy will never catch on over here! Oh well. I’m off to sell off a few pints of blood or something so I can afford a coke! Ciao!

American Pie…not here!

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 22, 2008

You Are Mud Pie

You’re the perfect combo of flavor and depth.

You are overpowering and dominant - and that’s what people like about you.

You bring energy and a new direction to most interactions.

People crave you in a serious way. You’re that important to them.

Those who like you give into their impulses.

You don’t represent reason. You represent pure temptation.

People get addicted to you rather easily.

You offer people a dark side that is very hard to resist.

I don’t know about me having a dark side and people becoming addicted to me rather easily, but I do know that I LOVE Mud Pie.  It’s so yummy!  I’m actually having so many cravings for foods that I can’t get here.  You know how it goes….you don’t know what you’re missing until you can’t get it anymore.  Right now, some Taco Bell would just about bring a tear to my eye.  I could so go a burrito supreme right about now.  We won’t even discuss how much I’m missing Mountain Dew.  And Foldgers.  And well, everything else I can’t get here that I want.  *sigh*  Now I’m wanting pie!

Help Keep The Memory Alive

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 22, 2008

Last year I blogged about this and this year I’ll be blogging about it again. It’s time for the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk. I take this to heart because my grandfather suffered from Alzheimer’s Disease and he died on November 9, 2007. This is a terrible disease in not only what the patient suffers, but what the family must suffer through as well. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone in a million years.

There are Memory Walks in over 600 communities across the U.S. I would encourage you to find out where the nearest one is for your community and take place. It’s only a 2-3 mile walk. Surely you can invest 2-3 miles of walking in an effort to raise money and awareness for such a terrible disease. Teams can be formed or you can participate on an individual basis. The choice is yours. Just follow the link I gave up above and you’ll be provided with all of the necessary information, including how you can start and organize a walk in your community should one not already be in the plans.

What gives?

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 22, 2008

Last night I managed to fall asleep sometime after 2 a.m.   I was wide awake at 7 a.m.   Seriously.  What gives?  I’m beginning to think that the sleep patterns are somehow tied into me be homesick.  I don’t know.  I try not to psycho-analyze myself all that often.  I think I’ll try to go to bed around 6:00 p.m. tonight.  That’ll be difficult though considering that it doesn’t even get dark here until pushing almost 11 p.m.  Oh well.  I’m off to start another day of feeling like a zombie!

Something to think about

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 21, 2008

Even though I’m nearly 38 years old (shhh, it’s not that bad!) I am still considering trying to have a baby.  I’ve had “issues” in fertility for several years now but for some odd reason, I’m really feeling like some of the problems have corrected themselves.  So that being said, I really do want to become a mother, and hopefully rather soon.  I do a lot of reading, about everything and pregnancy and childbirth is included.  I recently read about all of the developments that have come along with Cord blood research.  The Value of Cord Blood is actually invaluable.  I was amazed at what scientists and doctors are now able to do with the stems cells that are retrieved from a newborn baby’s umbilical cord.  Scientists and physicians are Treating Diseases with Stem Cells that a decade ago would have been untreatable.  Believe me, I’m far from educated on this topic.  I just find it to be fascinating that these discoveries have been made and these advancements have been made in medical science.  I do know that if I do find myself blessed enough to be able to have a baby in the near future, this is something that I’ll definitely look into further.  Cryo-Cell has a terrific amount of information on their website and I found them to be very educating and without all of the scientific mumbo-jumbo that 90% of us cannot understand.

Like I said, I still have a lot of reading to do and so forth to really know if this is something that I’d consider, but I do know that if I had a loved one who needed  the benefits of this type of procedure, I’d definitely thank the individuals out there who made it possible.

My own No-Doze system

Posted by That Bitchy Chick on July 21, 2008

I have never had a more screwed up sleep pattern than what I have right now.  It’s horrible.  I’m wide awake until around 2:30 or 3:00 a.m. and then I’m a zombie until around 10 a.m.  It’s been this way ever since I arrived here in the Netherlands.  At first I attributed it to jet lag but I should be well over the jet lag by now.  Maybe it’s because I’m constantly staying up to communicate with family and loved ones back home in the U.S.  Whatever the case, I’ve got to start getting some regular sleep and soon.  It’s doing nothing for the bags under my eyes, to say the least!
